The Time Tunnel is a 1966“1967 U.S. color science fiction TV series. The show was created and produced by Irwin Allen, his third science fiction television series. The show's main theme music was Time Travel Adventure. The Time Tunnel was released by 20th Century Fox and broadcast on ABC. The show ran for one season of 30 episodes. Reruns currently air on AmericanLife TV Network and on Hulu. A pilot for a new series was produced in 2002, although the pilot was not picked up.

Project Tic-Toc is a top secret U.S. government effort to build an experimental time machine known as "the Time Tunnel". When the costs of the project approach those of the entire U.S. space program, a United States Senator Leroy Clark (Gary Merrill) launches an investigation of the project. The Senator thinks that the tunnel has cost too much money for too little reward. At his request the Senator is allowed to visit the project base and be given a tour. Once he reaches the central control room the Senator explains his complaints to the project heads. The Senator then says that he wishes to close down the project as a waste of time and money that has not worked.

Key Time Tunnel scientist, young physicist Dr. Tony Newman (James Darren) turns the machine on and sends himself back in time in an attempt to prove that the Time Tunnel project funds were not wasted. In so doing, Newman becomes "lost in time". The Time Tunnel top personnel can see through the Tunnel that Tony Newman is aboard the soon to sink Titanic. They can also see that he cannot escape before the sinking, and they cannot retrieve him.

The Time Tunnel 66-67 color science fiction series has been released by twentieth century Fox and on aired by ABC. Irwin Allen was responsible for its creation. It was his third TV series of the same type. Adventures of time travel were the basic theme of the show. American life TV has re-run the series recently. Unsuccessful pilot for the new series has also been made in 2002.

Tic-Toc is the top secret mission of the American government. It includes the formation of time machine. But with the passage of time the budget for this mission had exceeded to the limit of whole budget of space program. So, Leroy Clark the senator has visited the site of project and complained the head of the mission about the budget, he expressed his intention to close down the project as it was wastage of money and time.

In order to prove the efficiency of the machine a young scientist Dr. Anthony Newman has sent himself in the past. During this presentation he became lost in the time and he was shown drowned with the sinking Titanic. So, top personnel were unable to retrieve him.

Dr. Phillips tried to help his friend by jumping into time tunnel. He was having that newspaper with him which narrated the story of drowned titanic. But Captain of the ship did not believe him and throw the newspaper aside.

In spite of all efforts the staff was unable to bring them home and their adventure continued. The story proceeded by wandering of these two character into past and future all episodes opened with the same narration, telling the audience that two American scientist have been lost in the maze of time while working on the top secret mission of making Time Machine.

These time travelers always got the chance to reach some extra ordinary historical event, for example drowning of Titanic, Pearl Harbor, and Eruption of Krakatau. They always try to stop the calamity to befell or warn people against it. People at work station always helped them out at the time when calamity started. At first season no solution of the problem has been seen at it was supposed to have second season as well.
