Doug DVD complete series collection with all episodes and seasons on DVDs
The most famous and the most hilarious American animated Sitcom was Doug. Jim Jinkins was the director of this famous series and was produced by the Jumbo Pictures to be aired from the Nickelodeons networks. It was a great success on the first line of nicktoons. Later on, it was taken over by the Disney and was started airing from the ABC on every Saturday morning block.
PLOT:
The show was aired from 1991 to 1994. The plot of this series was based on the fictitious character of Doug Funnie, who with his family shifted to Bluffington (A fictitious town), where they had to deal with the title character and his daily lifestyle of the diarist Doug Funnie.
It was first premiered on August 11, 1991 and was ended in 1994, but again started to rerun until 2002 as being the first nicktoon. It was again started rerunning from different television networks in US, UK and many other countries.
In the starting of this series, Doug Funnie with his family shifts to bluffington, a fake town far away from their first residence. There they meet skeeter, Pattie and other characters and their new life style begins.
The famous John Kricfalusi, the creator of another nicktoon series stated in a DVD commentary that the nicktoons is only banking on the Doug as to be its major hit. It was the most worthy and praising comment, ever passed by any producer for their competitors.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Disney productions ordered to remake the further parts of the Doug series renamed Spanking the New! Doug, which was aired from 1996 to 1999.
The remake version by the Disney was with many negligible changes, including a new family member in the Doug Funnie’s Family. The new character in the family was her sister Cleopatra Funnie. The other minor changes included the make over of Doug and other several characters. Pattie’s skin tone was darkened a little bit and Connie was unexpectedly thin. In shot, there were nine changes in the Disney’s Doug when compared with the original one. It was a superb hit and is still in the vivid memories of its audience.
