The Transformers is an American animated television series depicting a war between giant robots who could transform into vehicles, animals, and other objects. Written and recorded in America, the series was animated in Japan and South Korea. The entire series was based upon the line of transforming toys originally created by Japanese toy manufacturer Takara, which were developed into the Transformers line by American company Hasbro.

Four million years ago, on a distant planet called Cybertron, life existed in the form of sentient robots which could think and feel, called Transformers. The race of Transformers was divided into two main clans. Autobots (known as Cybertrons in the Japanese cartoon), led by Optimus Prime, wished for peaceful co-existence. Decepticons (known as Destrons in the Japanese version), under the command of Megatron, sought conflict and universal conquest. Both sides were embroiled in an ages old war for supremacy.

Transformers DVD complete series collection with all episodes and seasons on DVDs

Animated TV series The Transformer has shown the line of huge robots who can transform into automobiles and many animal shapes. The show was written and recorded in America but animated in South Korea and Japan. Whole series was based on the toy series manufactured by Japanese company Takara; afterwards American company changed these toys in transformer series.

When toy line was re launched in 1993 along with the comic it was named as Transformers: Generation 2, Fans have called this series as aka G1 which eventually come into official use as well.

Jim Shooter has come up with rough idea of alien robots having war between good autobots and evil robots. To enhance the concept he called in O’Neill, he asked him to develop the names and profiles of the character. But work of these two did not able to achieve approval from Hasbro. He asked to revise the project heavily but o' Neill refused to undergo said revisions. So, project has moved from one writer to another before Bob Budiansky has approved to work on it and his works got to be hit with Hasbro. Publication of this work has started on bi-monthly basis and TV pilot was also created.

A Japanese designer was responsible for the early designs of the transformers. He used more and more human like figures to make it more appealing. Floro Dery afterwards simplified his design and control leading position in the design team and created many designs in the future episodes.

After the success of the first series producers have aimed to second season with the syndication in view. So, they created 49 episodes to complete the number of episodes for the syndication. First season has story line where one episode is connected to other episode so second season was made in the form that one story got completed in single episode. So networks can chose any order of airing the episodes. One character was highlighted in one episode and that character was flesh out more as compared to the rest. In 1985 more characters were added into the series. Some of the toys modified in very unique style.
