On the other side the husband of Muriel, Eustace Bagge used to harass the dog, usually with a big green colored mask with two eyes out significantly. Eustace and Muriel always get struck in life threatening situations between, aliens, monsters, ghosts, mummies, etc. and Courage saves them from these situations without any help. Courage succeeds on very rare occasions as the greedy nature of his owner Eustace always ends up with debilitation.
PRODUCTION
Basically, the idea and perception of this series Courage the Cowardly Dog was originated by the short film “Chicken from Outer Space”, in which Courage has a less significant role with small dialogues in authoritative voice. The film was award winning and in the later parts chicken comes back to kill the Courage, as their mother told them not to enter in house unless they kill Courage. (This scene was also nominated for the awards).
Though the first short film was produced by Hanna-Barbera, however, the Cartoon Networks signaled okay to John R. Dilworth to continue this short series. It was indeed a big hit and still children are fond of Courage the Cowardly Dog.
